If you relish a challenge, feel you have what it takes to work at the peak of the global logistics industry, and want to be a significant contributor to helping scale the accounting function as SEKO grows, we are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate, sufficiently documented, and meet accounting requirements
  • Prepare journal entries to properly record the activity of the business, including payroll expenses / accruals, SG&A expense accruals, prepaid balances, and reclasses
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for US operating entities
  • Contribute to monthly reporting package by investigating and explaining trends, variances and significant items
  • Assist the accounting team in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of reporting
  • Support annual US audit by providing external auditors with all requested documentation in a timely manner
  • Assist external tax preparers in quarterly and annual tax return preparation, including processing and tracking tax payments and returns for all related entities
  • Comply with SEKO’s C-TPAT Security Profile

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Logistics industry experience a plus
  • Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in using MS Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains or similar accounting packages preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and achieve goals on time
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to work independently
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent data collection and qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
