Our Interiors Division is looking for a Commodity Buyer for its Auburn Hills, MI Center.

The role of a CommodityBuyer is to structure the building of a supplier panel for one or morecommodities (Resins and Chemicals for interior automotive products) and ensurethe overall productivity of the panel.

Responsibilities :

  • Structure the building of the panel : participate in the definition and the implementation of the purchasing panelpolicy for assigned commodities, manage supplier selection according to Groupcriteria
  • Brings and acquires knowledge of the market,suppliers, technologies and processes.
  • Participates to market and technologyevaluation of suppliers with the Project Buyers in North America and in Europe.
  • Develop and implement tools to improve globalproductivity
  • Ensures that targets for Costs (Purchasing andproductivity indexes), Quality (PPM and incidents) and delivery budget targetsare met for his / her commodity
  • Represents North America within the GlobalFaurecia Interior Systems Commodity Management Team
  • Makes the sourcing decisions in conjunctionwith the Vice President of Purchasing, Director of Commodity Purchasing and theProject Buyers, and negotiates the contracts in line with Faurecia InteriorSystems cost, quality, delivery and technological capabilities targets.
  • Supports make-buy studies
  • Leads the development and implementation ofQuality, Cost and Delivery improvement programs with the plant buyers, usingVA / VE, cost analysis, Kaizen and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards andwillingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.
  • Support the leadership and commitment withrespect to the environmental management system according to the NAOenvironmental policy and ISO 14001 : 2015.
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have / be :

  • Results orientation with strong written andoral communications skills
  • Knowledgeable in purchase of plastic rawmaterials for interior applications Example TPOs, PP , ABS, PC / ABS, Paints ,Glue etc
  • Knowledgeable in injection molding, paintingprocesses useful
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization
  • International mind set, overseas experience aplus
  • Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in business orengineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CommodityBuyer in an industrial environment
