Arcadis is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and client-focused Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to join our national EHS team.
The EHS professional will support existing and new opportunities for health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance projects, primarily in the Northern Region of the United States.
The EHS professional will provide routine on-site services at client facilities, as well as supporting our national EHS audit and technical knowledge team.
The selected candidate will work remotely from our client’s facility located in Fairfield County, CT.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Development of Safety, Health & Environmental Program plans, procedures, and policies for new and on-going operations and projects.
Conduct EHS regulatory compliance audits.
Provide support regarding compliance issues and provide expert opinions.
Interact with the client to identify needs, propose services, and provide deliverables.
Develop written proposals in response to client RFPs.
Candidates with the following skills / experience are encouraged to apply :
Ability to identify and document processes and develop procedures.
Experience working in a quality management system and performing audits.
Experience in such programs as : OSHA's VPP, Machine Guarding, Fire Prevention and Combustible Dust, Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout / Tagout), Confined Space Entry, Process Safety Management, Process Ventilation Assessments, Indoor Environmental Quality, and / or Food Safety
Experience in Connecticut with providing consultation for programs such as : Waste Management, Wastewater Discharge Management, Air Emissions Management, Spill Prevention / Control (SPCC), Underground Storage Tank (UST) Management, and EPCRA Reporting.
Working knowledge of International Building Code, National Fire Code and National Electric Code.
Experience in Facilities Management / Engineering.
Candidates residing in Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County, NY are preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related discipline
8+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of work experience and continuing education

Strong working knowledge of federal and state-specific EHS regulations.
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements (federal, state and local) and apply them to various workplace environments.
Experience developing and implementing Occupational Safety & Health and Environmental Compliance programs in a manufacturing environment or facilities management role.
Ability to work effectively in partnership at multiple levels of an organization to find manageable solutions to EHS challenges while maintaining a focus on sustainable practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, team building, and facilitation skills.
Developed computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio), Adobe Acrobat and Project Plan.
Developed time management and organizational skills.
Advanced ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain project tasks and milestones on schedule for a project team, and ensure high quality deliverables.
Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
