  • Inspects equipment and infrastructure for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws, customer requirements and company standards.
  • Directs and aids in cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensures corrective action is taken to resolve any issues and effectively works with Quality Assurance to assure the equipment is in a hygienic state prior to production.
  • Communicates with management and production personnel on sanitation concerns, makes recommendations for changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Completes reports regarding regular inspections and sanitation violations. Implements corrective actions to resolve deficiencies.
  • Manages team schedule requirements in partnership with Production to ensure completion of sanitation assignments.
  • Communicates and trains team on company policies and safety regulations. Ensures that sanitation team follows all personal safety requirements.
  • Lock out / tag out, PPE, good housekeeping, etc.)

  • Assists workers with resolution of work related concerns or issues.
  • Maintains time and production records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Partners with other supervisors to coordinate sanitation activities.
  • Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred.
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent mechanical and operational aptitude.
  • Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

  • High School Diploma / GED (Associates Degree preferred)
  • Required

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Sanitation experience in food processing
  • Preferred

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when required to meet the needs of the business, including weekends and afterhours.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including outside conditions and freezers.
  • College degree or 3 -5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably meat plant processing.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk and climb for extended periods of time.
  • Use a computer keyboard and monitor more than 25% of total work time.

  • able to crawl under equipment; bend; stoop; sweep; wipe and move repetitively for periods up to 30 minutes at a time.

  • The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to traffic hazards, wet and / or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a warehouse and walk-in freezer environment where temperatures can vary from extreme cold to very warm.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often moderate to loud.
  • Wet surfaces; over, under and inside industrial equipment; use of scissor lift for high cleaning.
  • Equipment Used on Job :

  • Box cutter; smock, hairnet, limited chemical exposure; air hose; hot water hose; floor cleaner; scissor lift; step ladder;
  • shop-vac; sanitation tools; flashlight; hygiene testing kits.
