Responsible for working with the Merchant to develop, execute, and communicate strategic merchandise plans that support the financial objectives of the stores.
Ensure inventory in stores is at an optimum level through the use of stock transfers, distributions, etc. Responsible for reviewing and updating the Open-
to-Buy plans.Analyze sales by sku and by vendor to project merchandise needs. Post actual sales for current ongoing programs and use information to project product needs, while taking into account turn and adjustment of model stock on trends.
Perform pre-season planning and in-season forecasting at the department / subclass level. Provide analysis and forecasting that supports seasonal buying strategies and decisions.
Review actual sales performance, and, if necessary, re-project in-season sales and inventories. Work Open-to-Buy on a weekly basis.
Input information that will impact inventory levels. Ensure that any planned action is in the Open-to-Buy as soon as it is finalized.
Provide the Buyers with re-order amounts based on forecasted sales, which project the quantity needed in stores. Determine when the inventory situation dictates need for stock balance, RTV, price change, or other inventory correction measures.
Propose and implement correction measures, and follow through to ensure completion. Monitor store inventory levels and make recommendations for merchandise transfers and / or distributions from the distribution center as necessary.
Distribute bulk shipments that are received in the distribution center. Create pre-distributions for drop-ship. Perform stock balancing, and prepare summaries and reports measuring the effectiveness of the stock balancing in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.
