Description : Manages the planning, scheduling, and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight.
Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition / disciplinary actions.
Represents company with carriers, negotiates claims, and selects carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material.
Directs research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges including freight payment processes.
Position will involve Import / Export Compliance and movement of goods.
Basic Qualifications :
Experience in traffic related shipping environment. Knowledgeable in various means of transportation modes, including air, truckload, and less-
than-truckload shipments. Knowledge of Import / Export processes for compliance and routing of freight. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office environment.
Desired Skills :
Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbal with internal and external customers.
Transportation of Hazardous Materials certified.
Military background in Transportation environment preferred.
