The position is responsible for collecting, reviewing and analyzing payroll information to effectively administer voluntary and involuntary deductions from pay, such as child support, federal / state tax levies, and other general deductions.
The position works collaboratively with multiple departments, including Payroll, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable ensure timely collection and payment of assigned deductions.
High school diploma or equivalent plus some formal training
Six (6) hours credit in accounting principles preferred
A minimum of 3-4 years of previous garnishment processing experience with garnishment law knowledge, preferably high volume payroll
Working knowledge of garnishment o U.S. garnishment regulations
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
Working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax laws
Familiarity with payroll software, PeopleSoft knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent and demonstrated attention to detail
Must demonstrate strong analytical and logical reasoning skills for problem solving
Strong customer service skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task at a fast past hands-on environment
