We are looking for a seasoned, team oriented, quality minded, and motivated Desktop Publisher in the area. Job Summary : The Desktop Publisher supports an interdisciplinary technical team, requiring knowledge in areas such as word processing, and uses new tools to apply the technical manual and provisioning updates.

Duties include but are not limited to : -Apply the updates to the technical manuals. -Input source as per mark-up. -Compose and print manual.

  • Send completed manual to Quality Team as required. -After QA review is completed apply changes per master mark-up. Knowledge, Skills & Ability : -
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience using Frame Maker. -Ability to understand and apply the basic principles of page lay-

    out, to include the integration of graphics, charts, forms, and tables. -Ability to adapt from one software package to another with minimal or no training.

  • Ability to interpret and apply detailed guidelines as outlined in various Department of Defense specifications and regulations and adapt these regulations from one service requirement to another.
  • Ability to track and work in large scale document files (most of which are in excess of 2000 pages and 2500 graphic illustrations) and keep configuration control of the files by hardware system and project.
  • Ability to multi task and adjust to changing situations with no interruption in work. -Ability to adapt to changes in program schedules and manual priorities and apply different processes required for different technical manual customers.
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills including the ability to articulate questions to technical writers, illustrators, and editors when clarification is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization. -Dependable attendance.
  • Proven flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic working environment and ability to coordinate with multiple individuals concurrently to expedite progress.
