Job Description : Software Developer
This is a temp-to-hire position. Taylor Communications is seeking a Variable Data Specialist for our AdHoc Development department.
The job function of the Variable Data specialist requires strong communication and organizational skills. Developers prepare and process customer supplied data through postal cleansing software and merge with customer supplied creative.
Project complexity includes simple address block merges to very complex variable page, text and paragraph jobs. The individual needs to be attentive to detail and able to quickly and easily move from one job to the next.
Each job is different and the individual will need to be able to take the basic building blocks and arrange depending on each work orders’ requirement.
Assists in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Candidate must be detail oriented, willing to learn, be able to prioritize and be flexible in a quick-turn environment.

Analyze work order
Prepare and process data through postal cleansing
Program and set-up variables needed in XMPie
Create the variable template in InDesign
Process proof and production files
Quality check work for your job and for others
Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
Performs assigned jobs using established procedures for job completion while working under immediate supervision.
Can read, understand complex standard requirements artifacts requirements matrices and process maps.
Must be able to work extended hours on short notice.
