RSM US LLP, the First Choice Advisor to the middle market, has been experiencing tremendous growth across the country. We are currently searching for an Audit Partner with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our National Real Estate Practice in Chicago.
Our National Real Estate Practice serves public and private clients including real estate private equity funds, advisors, institutional investors and joint ventures, hotel and hospitality, developers, and owners / operators of commercial, retail and multifamily real estate.
Successful candidates should have experience as an Audit leader with a focus on Real Estate clients and have deep meaningful relationships within the Chicago business community and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and service teams.
Technical responsibility for quality and financial performance on your audit clients
Represent the RSM brand to Real Estate clients and prospects in the marketplace
Use professional network and existing relationships to actively develop new business for the Real Estate assurance team as well as extend opportunities to other lines of business within the firm
Work across all regions as a collaborator and leader within the Real Estate audit function
Substantial responsibility in overseeing Real Estate client service delivery of solutions for clients, and will collaborate to introduce other lines of business within the firm
This leader will use their Real Estate industry experience, depth of technical knowledge and strong collaborative expertise to add value, and executive leadership across the practice
Assist in developing business plans, leading and developing assurance personnel in their interactions with clients in the marketplace
Develop and execute the firm strategy aligned with regional and national expectations, to drive growth for the firm
Support the RSM Real Estate Audit Services line of business, which may include concurring or other technical involvement on firm audit clients

Travel as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
Minimum of 12+ years of Real Estate audit experience in public accounting from Big 4, Top National, or Top Regional firm
Technical proficiency in financial statement audits of dynamic Real Estate companies that engage in complex transactions including : mergers and acquisitions, complex equity structures, complex debt structures, etc.
Excellent client service and organizational management skills
Proven success and track record in building, developing growing and sustaining client relationships
