Performs routine accounting, clerical, and administrative duties in accounts payable, accounts receivable and general office administration.
Essential Duties :
Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable; processes engineer and contractor requests for payment.
Reviews contractor requests for in-progress payments and for compliance with contract provisions and accuracy.
Maintains an accurate accounting system for Department / Division budgets to include professional service and construction contracts.
Maintains accurate accounting records for Public Works Capital Improvement Projects.
Assists in compiling and preparing annual budget documents.
Compiles and maintains project files.
Collects and prepares routine financial, statistical or operational reports as assigned.
Assists in the preparation of bond rating agency packets.
Prepares bi-weekly time and leave for department employees and verifies vacation, sick and compensatory leave data.
Performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering phones, maintaining files, providing information to the public, and scheduling meetings.
Composes, types and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications :
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree in business or related field; and
Three years of increasingly responsible related experience; or
Any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Must be able to type 30 wpm net.
