We are looking for an analytical Card Services Specialist to join our team! This person will be responsible for team-related activities related to card management, risk management, fraud awareness, and trend recognition to mitigate losses.
This position is also responsible for the following :
Maintaining the rewards program and vendor relations to fulfill card-related customer requests as appropriate.
Places card orders in accordance with department rules and regulations.
Addressing sensitive member concerns and issues to resolve further escalations.
Seeking to minimize disputes and fraud losses by proactively analyzing, identifying, and reporting trends and / or suspicious activity.
Interviewing cardholders to ensure plastic card disputes are valid. Differentiates, probes, and reaffirms if the dispute is confirmed fraud, non-fraud dispute, or valid / eligible.
Preparing written notification to members regarding dispute status, and requesting additional documentation as needed.
Confirming that appropriate / required documentation is received, and provisional credit is posted to member account within the designated time frame.
Ensures all dispute claims are closed within regulated timeframes.
Preparing bond filing for fraud losses claims to be sent to CUNA Mutual as well as to the accounting department for write off processing.
Actively covering the appropriate phone and email queues to assist members and staff with departmental related questions while adhering to call availability and service quality standards as outlined by department and credit union management.
Complying with BSA, Reg E and OFAC regulations within area of responsibility.
Minimum three (3) years' experience within a financial institution (preferably with payment card emphasis).
Working knowledge of Visa regulations and chargeback procedures (preferred).
Symitar experience is a plus.
Ability to independently navigate multiple internet resources / interfaces and tools to research, compile, and report information as required.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize assignments, meet all deadlines, and work independently.
Demonstrate sound judgment in decision making.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent follow-through skills.
