The Shared Services HR team supports management efforts to build and sustain a competent, engaged workforce by providing administrative, operational and consultative support to specific client groups within the Shared Services or Corporate organization.

Role Purpose

  • Responsible for managing the strategic relationships with, and the performance of contingent labor vendors and partners. Primary objectives are to develop strategic staffing plans that align with the complex, and changing demands of an integrated delivery health system;
  • optimize vendor structure and associated supporting processes; manage supplier performance to KPIs. Provides day to day oversight of contingent labor team which serves as the liaison between leaders and vendors.


  • Develop and execute on the vendor management plan. Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships. Monitor and maintain compliance set forth in contractual agreements for current and new vendors;
  • setup new vendors in corporate systems / tools. Lead the selection of vendor suppliers for BJC's temporary staff. Utilize the VMS to establish and verify performance metrics of suppliers.

    Perform as a functional bridge between vendors, internal accounts payable, internal stakeholders (Legal, HR) and hiring managers.

    Act as the primary point-of-contact and provide support for hiring managers and their team during the full lifecycle of temporary staff engagements.

  • Report on actual and forecasted costs / volume, tenure, head count tracking, requisition data, monthly statistics, and other reports as needed to efficiently manage temporary staffing.
  • Research and analyze data pertaining to external workforce labor market including bill rates, markups, employment screening, compliance, audits, etc.

    Review monthly and ad-hoc reports using the vendor management system as necessary and responds accordingly.

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to : hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet / support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and / or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Proactively oversee Suppliers’ compliance with contractual terms and conditions, routine attestations and reports, and critical deliverables, and facilitate timely problem resolution of contractual issues to minimize impact of service disruptions.
  • Monitor, evaluate and develop the applicable insight regarding all relevant service and supplier based performance metrics.
  • Support collaborative supplier relationships with accurate and insightful analysis that promotes effective communication, and enhances suppler discussions during business reviews.
  • Work with key stakeholders to facilitate the preparation of the annual RFP process which includes vendor assessments / vetting;
  • market rate analysis and contract modifications.
