Facility : St Joseph Medical Center

Location : Tacoma, WA

Department : Dietary

Job Type : 0.8 FTE (32 hrs / wk)

Shift : Evening Shift

Important Note : Nicotine (including cigarettes, gum, patches, vapors, etc ) and marijuana is part of our pre-employment drug screen

Job Summary :

Prepares and sets up food, supplies and nourishment for patients in accordance with recognized safety, sanitation and food-handling standards and procedures.

Delivers food trays to patients in rooms as required.

Essential Duties :

  • Serves food in accordance with recognized safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards and procedures.
  • Assists other department areas to maintain proper levels of stock and services.
  • Follows department and government safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintains a clean as you go workspace.
  • Adheres to and exhibits CHI Franciscan Health’s Core Values of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
  • Qualifications

    Education / Work Experience Requirements :

    Six months recent work experience in a healthcare field and / or large-volume food preparation that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills / abilities

    Licensure / Certification :

  • Current Washington State Department of Health Food Worker Card is required.
  • For Dietary Aide-Lead : Advanced Food Safety Certification (available from NEHA or ServeSafe) must be obtained within 90 days of working in a lead position, and will be verified by department management.
  • If assigned catering delivery duties :
  • Current Washington State Driver’s License, subject to state vehicle verification to comply with hospital insurance requirements.
