Role

The Microsoft Program Office (MPO) is a critical business function at Dell. Its role is to drive the overall business and relationship between Dell and Microsoft across all Dell business units.

We are currently seeking a high-powered Global Commodity Manager (GCM) to join the team.

The team member acts as the primary interface between broad, cross-functional internal stakeholders and our external partners at Microsoft to further develop our partnership.

Part alliance manager, part procurement professional, the team member will work across multiple business units and with Microsoft to assure the success of critical programs and deals as well as drive accountability for closure of escalations and operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Engages with the supplier to partner on initiatives, deals, programs through to closure from ideation to contract completion.
  • Acts as the escalation point between broad internal stakeholders and Microsoft to solve operational, contractual, legal, product, and functional challenges.
  • Prepares for, leads, and drives actions for both internal facing core team engagements and external facing Business Management System (BMS) meetings
  • Develops and manages project schedules status, resources, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines throughout owned projects with input from Microsoft, business partners, and the project team
  • Influences outcomes in line with the expectations of the business; negotiates internally and externally to ensure programs / projects are kept on track and delivered on time
  • Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience relative to procurement and strategic supplier management supporting assigned businesses or functions
  • Strong managerial, problem-solving, lateral thinking, communications, project management, planning organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent relationship and influencing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Knowledge of the business and functional units supported, their products, services and processes and pertinent regulation impacting their delivery
