We are responsible for engaging our consumers via email as well as mobile and browser push notifications. Our goal is to deliver meaningful content to the right consumers at the right time through a smart, performant and reliable platform.

We do this using modern streaming and distributed computing technologies hosted on a cloud infrastructure. We release frequently and new features are always under development.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Drive technical innovation by researching and incorporating new technologies and tools into our core system
  • Use your industry experience to lead and mentor junior members of the team
  • Partner closely with product, design, and analytics to work on improving the user experience
  • Be a standard-bearer in promoting code quality and technical best practices for this and other teams
  • About the role

    We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build and maintain data pipelines that power our consumer reengagement services.

    In this role, you will be responsible for a system that produces a third of Trulia’s traffic, processing 500 million messages a day.

    You will help users find their dream home by driving our communication channels to the next level.

    Who you are

  • BS or MS degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field preferred
  • 3+ years of working experience as an engineer
  • Strong in Java and Object Oriented Programming
  • Strong AWS competence (SQS, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Experience developing APIs in a microservice oriented architecture
  • Experience working in a QA’less organization where reliability is the responsibility of the engineers
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Scala & Spark
  • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Packer, etc.)
  • Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of email deliverability
