Department Profile :

MorganStanley’s Global Sustainable Finance Group ( GSF ) aims to drive the growth ofsustainable investing through ongoing development of products and solutions,thought leadership and capacity building initiatives.

The GSF team is seekingan Associate to support the team’s incubation and execution of innovativesustainable investing products, solutions and services for clients of MorganStanley.

Successful candidates will be a subject matter generalist with apassion for social finance, environmental finance and sustainability issuesmore broadly, strong attention to detail and nuance, and excellent writing,presentation and organizational skills.

Job Summary :

Helpcoordinate and amplify Morgan Stanley’s robust, Firmwide commitments tosustainability and sustainable finance, as well as the recently launched MorganStanley Plastic Waste Resolution, by working internally across the Firm toadvance business opportunities and enhancements, thought leadership and otherprojects related to sustainability.

In addition, this role will lead thedevelopment of a content strategy with a focus on research, writing and broadercontent creation, and help drive this Firmwide program by partnering with GSFleadership and key internal stakeholders across the Firm.

  • Developstrategic messaging plans related to sustainability, sustainable finance andthe Morgan Stanley Plastic Waste Resolution and drive collaboration withbusiness partners to amplify the firm’s sustainable finance and sustainabilityactivities through digital, social and other external media channels.
  • Develop andsupport a strategy for, and help to drive, the execution and amplification ofthe firm’s public commitment on the reduction of plastic waste, in closepartnership with GSF leadership and the firm’s Chief Sustainability Officer
  • Researchand write internal and external messaging on behalf of the Morgan StanleyInstitute for Sustainable Investing, Global Sustainable Finance and seniorleaders focused on sustainability topics
  • Deliverdrafts of innovative and interesting digital content for an investor-focusedaudience that describes, enhances and accelerates the firm’s efforts on thetopic of plastic waste, sustainable investing and corporate sustainability
  • Help informexecutives on the advancement of these activities by leveraging inputs from : internal and external stakeholders;
  • product and solution strategies; casestudies; client engagements; and other related strategic efforts as needed

  • Helprepresent GSF in internal, cross-functional working groups related to thefirm’s plastic waste commitment
  • Trackemerging and developing initiatives on sustainability, on the plastics valuechain, across the ESG and impact investing space, and at peer firms to help keepthe firm’s activities relevant and aligned with the external environment
  • Conductresearch on emerging plastics and sustainability topics and monitor emergingissues relevant to the firm’s commitment on an ongoing basis
  • Assist withadditional GSF and Institute for Sustainable Investing activities, as needed
  • Qualifications

  • Thesuccessful candidate must have 5+ years of professional experience, with 2+years of direct experience in financial services, communications strategy orrelated roles
  • Thecandidate will also have proven experience successfully delivering within afast-paced environment, and ideally, the financial services industry

  • Experiencein the financial sector and / or Series 7 & 63 license holder stronglypreferred
  • BA / BSdegree in a related field
