Your Responsibilities as a Lead Operator / Foreman :
Enjoying outdoor construction work associated with stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure construction, repair and replacement and leveraging your experience to mentor and direct other project field staff;
Enjoy a career as a road warrior using your company truck, phone, and tools to travel throughout Northern California, with occasional projects in Southern California and other West Coast states;
Self-perform smaller repairs and construction projects and lead the crew and subcontractors on larger ones.
Operating heavy equipment to safely install and repair underground utilities;
Coordinating and verifying utility mark-out and clearance; traffic control; excavation / trench safety; and related aspects of underground wet utility repairs and construction;
Identifying and scoping wet utility repair scopes, schedules, and budgets;
Completing wet utility repair / replacement projects in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget;
Mentoring and directing other project field staff and subcontractors in safe construction methods;
Operate a variety of heavy construction equipment, hydraulic, electrical, and hand tools.
Account for project labor, materials, and equipment.
Document field observations using mobile applications.
Ensure safe performance on all projects.

What we're looking for :
Minimum of 10 years of varied underground utility construction and repair experience; including significant experience and expertise with safe excavation methods and operation of various heavy equipment, (e.
g. skid loader, backhoe, excavator), and power tools.
Leadership experience and aptitude, including strong communication and mentoring skills, and commitment to safety.
Able to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and colleagues
Effective multi-tasker with strong attention to details.
Commercial Driver’s license with clean driving record
Current OSHA Confined-Space Entry and Competent Person (excavation) certification.
Knowledge of sediment and erosion control, general carpentry, plumbing, and electrical experience.
Thorough understanding of safe work practices in accordance with OSHA regulations
GED or High School Diploma.
5 + years of construction experience including scoping and budgeting projects.
Successful experience managing budgets, schedules, staff, and subcontractors.
Must be comfortable traveling up to 90% of the work week, Monday - Friday.
