The Social Media Producer is a journalist, writer, marketer, video creator and strategist on a mission to create compelling, engaging and innovative social posts, videos, campaigns and other off-platform content relating to CNN Underscored's reviews and recommendations editorial.
The ideal candidate is an expert across social media platforms who thrives at the intersection of service journalism and marketing.
The Social Media Producer will be responsible for growing the CNN Underscored social audience by enhancing and extending our service journalism in the social realm.
He / she will also work closely with external partners to develop, test and optimize paid social media campaigns that will expand our reach and increase engagement with our shopping, reviews and recommendation content.
The Social Media Producer will work closely with the Editorial Director to amplify CNN Underscored content across social channels and generate conversation and community with readers.
He / she will create effective and engaging social media content by editing video clips, crafting social posts, producing Instagram stories, and live streaming on social platforms.
The Social Media Producer will also work alongside our data and analytics team to create effective paid social campaigns aimed at growing followers, engagement, and ultimately, conversions.
S / he knows how to nurture and grow social media audiences through community management and is always seeking new ways to weave social voices back into the fabric of our editorial.
The Social Media Producer is prepared to be a teacher and collaborator, sharing his / her vision for interactive storytelling and communication with the rest of the CNN organization.
Strong editorial sensibility and a love for shopping content and product reviews that educate, inform and enlighten readers
Experience working for a major content publisher
Superb writing, editing and social media skills
Demonstrated success creating effective social media campaigns, both organic and paid
Hands-on experience working on content marketing campaigns with paid distribution platforms
A degree or a wealth of real-world experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media and / or Interactive Technology
At least five years' experience managing social (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat) for a media outlet, public institution or other large organization
Proficiency editing video / photos preferred
