The API market has been facing a fast-moving environment over the past couple of years and is going through major challenges as follows :

  • Highly competitive and fragmented market : 80% of API production volume coming from China and India
  • 3,350 companies manufacturing and selling API (7% are in western countries)
  • Western vs eastern countries’ labor costs
  • Government pressure on drug prices
  • Price competition in the generic sector is increasing every day

    Main missions : Business Analysis :

    Business Analysis :

    Develop and share market knowledge within the SAIS North America team (Bridgewater) and at Global level (Paris area) to build strategic recommendations and support the Sales development in the Zone.

  • Perform regular monitoring and Market analysis for key API’s, Customers and Competitors (IQVIA and Import / Export custom data tool) and prices related to the active ingredients of the current SAIS portfolio, in order to anticipate short-term and long-term impacts and develop our Competitive Intelligence.
  • Provide recommendations to help the Sales Team identify where to play and develop new business opportunities (new molecules, new customers, new markets)
  • Contribute to the Business review preparation and presentation to the Top Management half-yearly
  • Contribute to structure and report monthly KPI’s about Sales and Commercial Activities
  • Marketing Excellence :

    Define, implement and coordinate with the Global team (Paris area) marketing projects within the SAIS North America team (Bridgewater) to drive continuous improvement of activities in the North America zone.

  • Support the implementation of common marketing tools in the NA zone to speed up market knowledge development and establish strategic recommendations about how to win, while standardizing methods and tools.
  • Contribute to the strategic marketing process within SAIS in tandem with the BU marketing managers.
  • Update and follow up the customer segmentation
  • Monitor the adherence to the commercial call plan KPIs defined with the Sales team and share the analysis with the Global SAIS team on a quarterly basis.
  • Be the focal point in the NA zone of all interactions with the Global Marketing Team.
  • Profile

    Double degree in Chemistry or Pharmacy and Business School + 5 years of experience in international pharmaceutical marketing or in a B2B environment

    Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies

    Understanding customer needs and market dynamics

    Strong data / market analyze understanding

    Ability to analyze and solve problems

    Management of complex projects

    Experience in international or multicultural management

    Team spirit and ability to work collaboratively

    Experience in Industrial Affairs or Chemistry is a plus

    English fluency

    Job could require travel, up to 10% in North America and Europe.

    Dotted : Head of SAIS Marketing & Communications (Paris area)
