Responsibilities

As a Senior Web Developer on our eCommerce Marketing team you will deliver customer-facing solutions using modern web technologies in our rapidly evolving products.

You will develop solutions built for sustainability and performance, and will improve the architecture to handle our growing customer base.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, testers and other developers to design, test, code, deliver and support software within an Agile Scrum environment via architecture built on a cloud infrastructure.

Our websites and applications provide the online shopping experience for Crate and Barrel and CB2 customers. This position requires experience in .

NET, SQL, Python, BigQuery, and web technologies in a highly collaborative, exciting, and fast paced atmosphere that requires great communication skills.

  • Design and develop business functionality in data transformation projects.
  • Design and develop business functionality in multi-tier solutions while improving code quality and infrastructure.
  • Build scalable, unit testable solutions for our applications and do code reviews.
  • Follow good security, coding standards, architecture patterns, and documentation practices.
  • Work across all phases of the software development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, deployment, operations and support).
  • Work on a cross-disciplinary Agile team to understand requirements, do backlog grooming, sprint planning, execution, and retrospective.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all associates and business contacts and promote a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Mentor and coach other developers and able to collaborate with offshore teams.
  • Optimize website speed / performance.
  • Prototyping and discovery.
  • Manage multiple projects and work independently without supervision at times.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience
  • Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET (MVC), .NET Core, Visual Studio
  • 5+ years of .NET web development with a preferred focus on retail eCommerce solutions and MVC
  • 3+ years .BigQuery development and Python development preferred
  • 3+ years working under Agile scrum framework
  • A plus to have
  • Cloud first architectures (GCP, AWS, Azure)Web Performance measuring (APM)Log aggregators (SumoLogic, Splunk)

  • Experienced with JIRA and BitBucket / Git for source control
  • Domain-Driven Design, Dependency Injection, caching strategies
  • Proficient in using built-in browser tools like Chrome Developer Tools
  • Practical understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns in a web environment
  • Unit Test frameworks like MSTest, NUnit and Jasmine and mocking frameworks like Moq
  • Experience in HTML and Javascript. Javascript framework experience (e.g. ReactJS, AngularJS, Node.js, jQuery) is a plus
  • Experience with relational databases like SQLServer. Google BigQuery and NoSQL database experience a plus
  • Familiarity with GCP / AWS services
  • Great analytical skills to debug complex problems and curiosity / passion for technology
  • Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
