PGS is looking for a Cloud Hardware Architect for the Computing Infrastructure Department. This critical role requires aptitude for taking quick initiative, thinking big, and delivering pioneering results to help accelerate cultural change for cloud adoption.

This role offers the responsibility to support PGS’ move to an agile, cloud-based solution, by configuring and deploying hardware to run PGS software in the cloud, writing tools to enable the process of building and taking down the cloud environment along with developing a DevOps pipeline to compile and distribute software.

Your work will involve :

  • Contributing to a well-informed cloud strategy and the adaption process
  • Evaluating regularly cloud applications, hardware, and software
  • Developing and organize cloud systems
  • Working closely with IT security to monitor and implement the company's cloud privacy
  • Responding to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Offering guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
  • Identifying the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company
  • Providing 3rd level support to Operations engineers in maintaining the above
  • Qualifications :

  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields
  • Ideally at least 3-5+ years' experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions
  • A solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud
  • Strong experience with containerization, preferably Kubernetes / Docker
  • Ability to implement and operate Google Cloud Platform and services it provides
  • Experience with configuration and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, OpsWorks)
  • Capability of developing and running microservices in Kubernetes infrastructure like Google Kubernetes Engine
  • Comprehensive Linux and Unix system administration
  • Knowledge of In depth HPC hardware systems
  • Proficient to Seismic processing software installation and configuration. Software development tools. Shell scripting languages
  • Exposure to software development and debugging
  • Advanced networking skills
  • Experience in Windows and Linux OS and command line

  • Developed new deployment pipelines and processes from scratch
  • Attune with hardening to meeting security standards
  • Obtain strong communication skills (Written, verbal and interpersonal) to lead and effectively
  • Skilled in engaging stakeholders across multi-discipline to conceptualize best-fit solution from available technical options
  • Ability to clearly articulate pros and cons and lead the team to right technology path
  • Knowledge of GIT and repository tools and structures, best practices
