Competitive Skee-Ball® League Manager

Brewskee-Ball® Los Angeles, a competitive Skee-Ball® league, is expanding to the West Side and seeking a marketing & community-minded person to run the league.

This position, affectionately referred to as the Skee-E-O, is the league manager. They're responsible for all marketing, operations, and execution of league play, community events, and tournaments.

This role is the face of the league and provides all players with a central voice and direction. In addition to having an unwavering positive and diplomatic attitude, this position provides the fervor and excitement that represents Brewskee-Ball®.

Sounds like fun right? It definitely is! For the right person, this role can evolve into something bigger. Brewskee-Ball® is part of a nation-wide Skee-Ball® league and this role has the potential to grow regionally.

Responsibilities (don't worry, there'll be training on all of these) :

League Promotions :

  • Generate interest in the league through :
  • Promotional Activities (flyering, social media, events, partnerships, etc)
  • Networking with local businesses and neighborhood groups
  • Being the social chair of the league
  • League Operations :

  • Scheduling of League matches, Skeeson finals, Community events (ie brewskee-brunch)
  • Host and run League nights and Skeeson Finals (BMT, BROTY, Hundo Challenge)
  • Generate match codes and distribute to players
  • Make announcements and emcee before / between / after matches
  • Capture photos of teams, players, and matches during league play
  • Communications with league :

  • Weekly email (with recap, schedule, and any logistics)
  • Coordinate with Players about scheduling
  • Management of social channels (FB, twitter, and IG)
  • Post weekly league photos to social media channels
  • Community Operations :

    Maintain email (and phone) database / spreadsheet of all players

  • Host at least 1 off-skeeson or mid-skeeson get-together / practice
  • Be on a first name basis with all players and some bar staff
  • Desired Skills :

  • Effective communicator (written and verbal)
  • Punctual and diligent in getting things done
  • Socially empathetic and respectful
  • Dependable and reliable (not flaky)
  • Passionate about alternative sports (i.e. Skee-Ball®)
  • Understanding of digital communication mediums (Gmail, Google Docs, FB, etc)
  • Doesn't take self too seriously
  • Time Commitment :

  • 30 weeks per year
  • 3 Skeesons, 10 weeks per Skeeson
  • Matches take place on same night each week (i.e. Mondays)
  • 5 hours per week for running league
  • 5 hours / week in operations
  • Compensation :

    Starting $1,800 / Skeeson

    opportunity for increase with more teams / league nights - 10 team minimum)
