Advarra has 15 institutional review board meetings a week and daily review of protocol related items eligible for exempt and expedited review.

Our board members bring expertise from all fields ranging from social and behavioral research to phase 1 first in human trials.

Advarra is currently recruiting for two new full-time institutional review board members to join our energetic and exciting team.

Specifically, we are looking for :

  • One IRB member with a medical / scientific background to participate in the institutional review board (IRB) review, approval and oversight of research involving human subjects, conduct expedited reviews, participate in the development of guidance and education sessions, and participate in external conferences and workshops among other activities.
  • One IRB member with experience at the Food and Drug Administration. Experience with device review is preferred. This individual will spend approximately 50% of his / her time participating in the institutional review board (IRB) review, approval and oversight of research involving human subjects, conducting expedited reviews, participating in the development of guidance and education sessions, and participating in external conferences and workshops among other activities.
  • The other 50% of time will be spent on advisory review services for clients; and, guidance and education activities across the entire company.

    Basic qualifications for both positions include but are not limited to the following :

  • The ability to understand and apply the regulations relating to research involving human subjects
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality in the review of any Advarra related matter
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong skills in collaboration, and productive dialogue
  • Strong writing and oral skills
  • Demonstrated consistency and dependability in quality and quantity of work
