Job Description

ECS is seeking Account Managers for U.S. Defense and Federal Civilian Agencies to identify promising business opportunities, lead capture efforts, and work across ECS to build strategic account plans with operational program leads.

Responsibilities include :

  • Identify, qualify and successfully pursue new work within the Federal Government
  • Develop robust and accurate account plans and customer opportunity pipelines
  • Build long term productive partnerships with both customers, industry partners, and internal ECS personnel
  • Successful interaction with Federal executives, portfolio, and operational program leads to understand major mission requirements, current program issues, and create business development strategies to pursue pipeline opportunities
  • Manage capture teams supporting major business development, capture and proposal activities supporting corporate strategic growth initiatives
  • Successful communication to customers, contract program managers, industry partners, ECS senior management, and Government representatives
  • Candidates must have at least 10 to 15 years' experience working Federal Business Development (including BD, Capture and Proposal Development).

    Examples of U.S. Defense accounts include but are not limited to : Army, Navy, DHA, DISA, U.S. TRANSCOM, USMC, and the Intelligence Community.

    Examples of Federal Civilian accounts include but are not limited to : DHS, DoS, EPA, HUD, HHS, USPS, DOE, DOT, and DOJ.

    Required Skills :

  • Bachelors / Masters Degree
  • At least 10 to 15 years of Federal Business Development experience (including BD, Capture, and Proposal Development)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a number of projects / priorities simultaneously; able to be hands-on as well as strategic
  • Ability to articulate how communications can influence business results to senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence without authority; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel (executive to entry level)
  • Ability to project a confident leadership image to peers, subordinates, and executive management
  • Desired Skills :

  • In-depth understanding of U.S. Defense and Federal Civilian Agencies
  • Experience working with multiple organizations within the U.S. Defense and Federal Civilian Sector in the pursuit of business opportunities
  • Specific experience and relationships (depth and breadth) working within major Defense and Federal Civilian Agencies
  • Understanding and experience working with the preferred contract vehicles currently held by ECS (i.e. CIOSP3, Alliant, OASIS, Eagle, etc)
