All dietary service tasks to store, prepare or serve food and to clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces are done in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations to enhance resident comfort and enhance the quality of life.
Loads trays onto tray cart for delivery throughout the facility. Pushes carts weighing up to 30 pounds to dining areas and resident unites.
Carries individual trays weighing up to 5 pounds to neighborhood units when necessary. Respects Residents’ preferences about personal menu items.
Reports refusal of food served to designated supervisor and to Charge Nurse to substitute meal can be provided. Obtains instructions from supervisor and makes substitutes as directed for residents who refuse the meal as served.
Delivers nourishments, food supplements and snacks to units as scheduled and / or directed. Maintains food service equipment (clean and in proper operating condition) according to facility procedures.
Promptly reports all problems, including equipment breakdowns, to the Manager. Assists with food preparation as assigned.
Operates institutional food preparation equipment according to equipment instructions and / or Manager’s directions.
Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Frequently exposed to sharp knives, blades and other sharp implements.
Routinely uses a computer.
Constantly required to communicate telephonically and face to face with colleagues and customers. Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments / devices.
Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone. Constantly required to lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Frequently required to lift and / or move up to 60 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
