Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Research Associate I will work with study principal investigators, the department’s research team, and practices to conduct research studies that matter to primary care.

Areas of responsibility include coordinating and conducting study tasks, and collecting and analyzing study data from primary care practices across the state.

Minimum Hiring Standards

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills, including Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access), web / PC-based software, Electronic Medical Records, RedCap, and similar applications.
  • Training and experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection (including SAS or SPSS) along with analyzing and presenting initial findings.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly with a variety of individuals and in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and situations quickly and effectively.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a health or related social science discipline, or equivalent combination of college, training or applicable experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with human research subjects protection and HIPAA, including CITI certification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with IRB and human subjects documentation.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking and complex problem solving skills and be a good communicator.
  • Work experience and / or training in primary care practice, structure, workflow, demands, and needs.
  • Knowledge of community based participatory research and translational science.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse and team-based environment.
