Sr. Shopper Insights Manager - Ecommerce

This role can be in either Neenah, WI or Chicago, IL

SUMMARY OF POSITION :

This Shopper Insights role demands a strong understanding of shopper, category and customer insights capabilities. This includes tools, communication vehicles and research approaches that facilitate deeper understanding of retail dynamics AND fuel high-

impact customer collaboration. Qualified candidates will have experience and expertise in designing and executing customer development research, including proficiency in methodologies, analysis and development of compelling and actionable insight presentations.

A background of customer, shopper, and / or category insights is essential to success in the role. Key capabilities will include strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively across teams and to interact with customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Ability to clearly and precisely communicate orally and in writing to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to develop and deliver actionable insights relative to customer, category and retail marketplace performance.
  • Ability to build strong sustainable business relationships at various levels throughout the K-C organization and with customers.
  • Ability to precisely and proficiently conduct strategic business and data analyses with financial acumen and data driven recommendations.
  • Ability to create professional, yet persuasive, PowerPoint presentations incorporating data, relevant insights and information, visual aids, charts, tables and video, when appropriate.
  • Ability to operate and use telephones, computers / laptops and other technological devices / software programs to communicate with other people.
  • Ability to travel via aircrafts, and operate and drive motor vehicles for business travel, with valid driver license.
  • DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC / NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Develops and deploys Shopper Insights capabilities that drive valuable customer collaboration and competitively advantage Kimberly Clark.
  • Advances K-C capabilities relative to the use of Virtual Reality for category, customer and shopper insights. Drives implementation of a cutting edge VR capability that drives business results and accelerates K-
  • C customer collaboration and influence. Identifies resources required, and works to build partnerships with Category Management and other internal partners to implement the approach.

  • Works within SI and Customer Development to drive retail execution / DPSM with in-context testing of executional elements and virtual reality sell-in stories.
  • Supports Shopper Insights Learning Plan development by providing input to field learning plans, and by developing and identifying resources for capabilities to strengthen learning plan projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Category Management to design and develop capabilities that produce best in class shopper insights that can help KC win at shelf, support customer meetings and other customer sell-in stories.
  • Serves as an Insights resource to support reinvented Innovation Summit meetings. Partners within the SI team, engages with Customer and Brand teams, supports development and delivery of compelling insights that fuel Innovation Summit as a cornerstone of customer collaboration.
  • Works with SI Director to develop and deploys K-C annual Megatrends presentation as a key category foundational tool that fuels both customer category growth stories and brand strategy and innovation.
  • Manages the process, including developing internal partnerships (within GMRA, corporate strategy, customer development) to identify and exploit trend resources that form the foundation for a compelling annual POV on evolving trends.

  • Must have strong working knowledge and experience with research tools, including specifically Virtual Reality tools. Must have experience with analyzing syndicated and POS data, household panel and / or loyalty data and Geo-
  • Demographic (e.g. Spectra) data. Proven experience in strategic application of data, navigation of databases, methodologies and measures.

  • Must also have the ability to engage and enroll employees and their customer base in the general practices for solving shopper problems and providing shopper solutions.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

    Education required : Minimum of Bachelor’s degree.

    Experience :

    At least 5 years of experience in transforming business analyses and data from multiple sources into actionable insights for Sales, Shopper Marketing, and Category Management based on strategic initiatives.

    Strong working knowledgeable of syndicated data, household panel data, Geo- Demographic data, loyalty data analysis, shopper research, and marketing concepts.

    Strong experience in strategic application of data, navigation of databases, methodologies and measures.

    Preferred Experience / Qualifications :

    Experience analyzing shopper data and developing customer solutions that delivers category or customer growth. E xperience and expertise in developing compelling category stories that drive customer partnerships.

    Knowledge of syndicated data, household panel data, Geo-Demographic data, plan-o-gram analyses, and shopper research. Proficient in data access tools and PC based applications (Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS :

    Reports to Global Director of Shopper Insights.

    SCOPE OF POSITION :

    Develops sustainable partnerships within GMRA and Customer Development. Builds and drives capabilities that enable K-C collaboration with customers around category growth opportunities.

    Understands retailer dynamics, is informed about customer capabilities and understands Virtual Reality and other key retail execution capabilities.

    WORKING CONDITIONS :

    Travel may include up to 35% of work time. Travel may also include business travels via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various locations.

    May include prolong periods of sitting, typing, viewing computer / laptop screens, along with occasional bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, climbing, twisting, stooping and standing.

    LOCATION OF POSITION :

    This position will be located in Kimberly Clark’s Neenah, WI office and will support the Shopper Insights and Customer Development.
