JOB SUMMARY : The intern will support the Show Engineering Team with the design development of a variety of show systems including but not limited to Animation, Special Effects, Rockwork, Show Set, Show Controls, Lighting, and Audio / Video.
Intern will get to work with cross functional teams across Universal Creative to further designs, solve critical problems, and propose innovative ideas to the project and company
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Review and provide feedback on design review documentation including drawings, engineering calculations, and safety plans.
Create creative and technical mockups to demonstrate functionality of show systems to Creative Studio, Ride & Show, and Facilities Teams
Analyse data, create models and drawings, and perform engineering calculations to solve complex technical challenges.
Coordinate and facilitate meetings with operational, technical services, and EHS stakeholders to ensure the design meets the standards of key stakeholders
Prepare scope documents and technical articles to ensure the team’s technical solutions match up with Creative intent
Complete day-to-day tasks as needed for the ride and show team
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
In pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
An official transcript may be required upon request.
Preferred majors may include : Mechanical Engineering, Electrical / Controls Engineering, Civil Engineering, Technical Theater, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering
Skills for success in role includes but not limited to :
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
Experience with any type of Computer Aided Design Software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
Must have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Must be able to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner
Must be able to handle a variety of competing tasks and priorities
Previous work experience in an Engineering, Supply Chain, Design, Facilities Design, Construction, Maintenance, Theme Park Operations, or equivalent field is highly encouraged but not preferred
Background in Technical Theater, Themed Entertainment Design, Robotics, Set Design, Lighting / AV Design (Preferred)
General interest in the Themed Entertainment Industry
