Essential Job Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor role will work on a team charged with managing all aspects of our Operations at our manufacturing facility in Denver, CO.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will lead a cross-functional team of manufacturing employees. The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that their team is properly scheduled, trained and provided the direction and motivation needed to meet Key Performance Indicators to include Employee and Food Safety (GMPs), Efficiency Metrics, Yield Realization and Product Cost Targets.

Additionally he / she is responsible for interfacing with and providing direction to the sanitation and maintenance resources that are responsible manufacturing areas and related equipment.

As our business continues to grow, this position will have direct input into how we continue to grow in a manner that meets the needs for increased capacity.

  • Establishes a culture of respect, hard work, consistency and effective communication in the production facility and when interfacing with contacts external to the organization.
  • Maintains food production yields and quality assurance and control methods in a high speed food manufacturing operation focused on continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes company production planning tools and resources to maximize facility throughput and workflow.
  • Adheres to the Federal, State, and District rules and regulations pertaining to food manufacturing operations including both Food Safety and Employee Safety.
  • Maintains the company’s high standards of food safety, sanitation and cleanliness in all manufacturing facility areas.
  • Manages the health, sanitation, and safety regulations pertaining to the handling and storage of foods and the operation of food processing facilities and equipment.
  • Develops and maintains accurate records, makes mathematical computations, and prepares production reports.
  • Reviews and analyzes production work processes and implements corrective action for operational improvements.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Peers, Vendors and Manufacturing Employees to ensure costs are aligned with the operating budget.
  • Participates in hiring, staff training and development, and the supervision of the production staff.
  • Conducts performance reviews and coaching for hourly manufacturing employees.
  • Flexible work schedule as dictated by the needs of the business
  • This individual acknowledges as part of the management team, are responsible for food safety and quality at the Boulder Brand’s Udi’s Facilities
  • In the instance this individual is absent from the facility and cannot be reached, their backup defaults to the individual that this individual reports to
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner
  • Essential Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive needed to work effectively within a growing company.
  • Hands on production manager experience working in a high volume, food manufacturing facility.
  • Proven track record for delivering success in fast paced, results oriented environments.
  • Proven management experience including training and development of teams.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and physically perform requirements of job.
  • Advanced knowledge of safe and proper Safety Programs in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills are required with the ability to quickly learn new programs.
  • Able to work well with others and participate as part of a team.
  • Able to multi-task in a professional, respectful manner with keen attention to detail.
  • Bi- Lingual (English, Spanish) is strongly preferred
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment :

  • Lifting and Carrying : negligible occasionally , up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds to pull or lay objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position requiring the use of upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Pushing or Pulling : using extremities to exert force in order to push , pull, draw, drag, haul, or tug objects exerting a negligible amount of force occasionally , up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Walking / Standing : Frequently on slick wet flooring / Standing for long periods of time.
  • Talking : expressing or changing ideas by means of spoken words. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, and / or quickly.
  • Hearing : perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Reaching : extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Fingering : picking, pinching, or otherwise working primary with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Using forceful exertions and postural stress.

  • Grasping : applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm when cleaning.
  • Visual : the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities by sustained attention and balance. PPE required, steel toe boots hair net eye and ear protection.
  • Must be able to work in confined and wet areas.

    Education and / or Experience :

  • High School Diploma required, College Degree preferred.
  • 2 years minimum experience in a high volume food manufacturing facility
