External Description :

Plan and manage Meditech system requirements for Methodist Mckinney, Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison and Methodist Southlake.

Coordinate and act as liaison with host provider as well as with OPPOR and other vendors to ensure hospitals and ASCs receive required support.

This position will have an office at one of the area hospitals but will be required to travel among each of the facilties on a routine basis.


  • BA degree in Information Systems or equivalent required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in information technology solutions, technology integration, large scale program management and strategic consulting background are required
  • Previous experience with Meditech is required
  • Working knowledge of Meditech is required
  • Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact and a liaison between the hospitals and vendors (i.e., Oppor)
  • Manage IT budget and develop overall IT strategy on advanced technologies, as well as cost saving technologies
  • Work with departments on technology needed enhancements and gaps as they relate to both hardware & software
  • Identify technology solutions for various departments
  • Responsible for all IT vendor relationships including negotiating and terminating contracts
  • Coordination of Meditech interfacing with host, support, upgrades, testing of upgrades to modules at each hospital.
  • Act as a liaison between hospital leadership and support services
  • Dotted line managment & coordination of communication of IT staff at each hospital for Meditech upgrades, new applications, server networking, hardware, and coordinating OPPOR issues.
  • Manage and coordinate IT support teams at each hospital
  • Change Control and allocation of needed resources that can be shared between 3 hospitals (financial, clinical, nursing, ancillary subject matter experts).
  • Instruct and teach new system upgrades and policies

  • Managing and screening any consultants that are outsourced, as well as screening Meditech subject matter experts.
  • Lead hospital IT teams to teach hospital staff as needed
  • Coordination and planning / testing of Meditech upgrades / modules, support and liaison with Meditech host & tech support service
