Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Director of Quality and Safety
JOB SUMMARY :
58-Bed, Highly specialized cardiovascular hospital, one of the top in the nation! Home to one of the largest non-academic cardiovascular research programs in the world.
The Director of Quality Management, Infection Prevention and Medical Staff Services manages the facility quality and performance improvement (PI) programs, including outcomes analysis.
Promotes performance improvement staff education and development.
Ensures appropriate and timely medical staff operations and activities including appropriateness and completeness of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Procedures.
Ensures implementation and completeness of the Infection Control Program. Oversees Risk Management Program
Responsibilities Include :
You will develop quality and process improvement plans and policies, perform evaluations, analyze reports, and ensure compliance with requirements for quality, performance, and patient safety
You will be a representative to selected quality committees and initiatives, and will provide support to process improvement and peer review committees
You will manage and guide physician peer review activities with upper management
You will manage patient safety initiatives, educate staff on quality and patient safety, and promote overall compliance and improvement
You will represent the facility as a key member in the coordination of The Joint Commission Core Measures and Content Management Systems Quality initiatives
You will be responsible for the processing and completeness of medical staff and allied health professional applications for appointment, reappointment, or privileges and the compliance with professional requirements
You will be responsible for staffing and perform human resource activities including training, evaluations, and staffing adjustments
You will prepare and monitor the department budgets
You will obtain and implement databases and computer software to enhance department performance
You will oversee the implementation of the infection prevention, detection, surveillance, and improvement system, and build a system-wide infection prevention culture
Bachelor’s Degree, Required
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification Preferred, Certification is Required within 3 years of hire
Must have Director of Quality experience in an acute care facility NO EXCEPTIONS!
5 years of experience in strategic planning, core measures, peer review, infection prevention, performance improvement, and implementing quality initiatives
Understanding of healthcare environment, strong project management skills, knowledge of quality principles, theories, and tools
Data analysis and statistical background required
Must have a strong understanding of IP practices within an acute care setting - data / statistical analysis
