With over 15,000 square feet of heavily shaded outdoor space, food trucks on rotation, a kitchen slinging the best cheesesteaks in town, signature draft cocktails, and even a bar located where you would least expect it (think tree house, ferris wheel, etc), there’s no place else quite like Truck Yard.

And there’s no job quite like the Key Manager of Truck Yard. We’re looking for a tenured restaurant professional that can handle the operational complexity, high volume bar service, and guest relations of our urban oasis.

The Key Manager’s primary duty is overseeing all aspects of the restaurant & bar operations to ensure quality standards of food and service are met consistently, staff is executing operational standards, and guest experience is positive.

While working as a key manager, you are responsible for ensuring the goals of Truck Yard are being met :

  • Great Food & Drink
  • Great Service
  • Friendly Staff (to customers and each other)
  • Clean & Well Maintained Buildings
  • And of course, we’d expect any great Key Manager at Truck Yard to do these things :

  • Manage entire operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts, which include daily decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, and scheduling while upholding standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Manage staffing throughout shift including when employees can check out for the day.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to the company’s policies and guidelines. Performs line checks throughout shifts. Provides coaching to all staff if policies or guidelines are not followed.
  • Recommends performance management or discipline to the General Manager as needed.

  • Prepares reports daily, which may include cashiers reports, sales reports, etc.
  • Ensures that proper cash handling procedures are followed with all cash-handling employees, from cashiers to supervisory staff.
  • Balances cash on hand as required for shift.

  • Manages all check-in orders ensuring proper specs and quality are adhered to.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel / payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and solves problems throughout the shift to ensure a great employee and customer experience.
  • Qualifications

    College degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative.

  • Working knowledge of business software (Word, Excel, Social Media)
  • Working knowledge of POS & inventory systems
  • 1+ years experience managing a team of 30+ employees
  • 1+ years in a Supervisory / Key Manager role of a restaurant or bar
  • 3+ years experience in high volume bar business
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions : food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license and have reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must agree to background and credit check

  • Self-disciplined and self-starter
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team
  • Ability to deal with the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with staff, customers and community
  • Strong knowledge of basic Human Relations and ability to interpret personnel rules & regulations
  • Other things to know about this job

  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
  • Position requires working out doors in all weather conditions
  • Position may require work with with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
