Position Information Job Code / BCAT SA - MISC Pay Scale TBD Nature of Work

  • Videotapes shows, event and other promotional videos for YouTube and other digital platforms.
  • Edits and assembles final visual / audio program material; ensures consistency and relevancy to production; monitors technical quality of end product.
  • Assists a producer / director regarding preconceived ideas and physical realities of production setting
  • Tests all equipment to determine technical quality of recording, audio and lighting apparatus prior to operation in the field.
  • Operates complex video and audio equipment; including DJI Phantom Drone
  • Performs editing procedures using Adobe Premier, After Effects, and other software
  • Transports video and audio equipment to various sites for purpose of videotaping;
  • Videotapes program material for production using video camera equipment;
  • makes technical decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, shooting angle and placement and type of microphone;
  • Receives explicit instructions regarding assignment from various other station staff and student leaders
  • Support shows and promotions, as needed, with various design-related requests
  • Assist with business development projects
  • Involvement in weekly meetings
  • Attend staff & DJ meetings and perform functions as deemed appropriate by Operations Manager, Operation Manager or Program Director
  • Required Qualifications

    All students must have completed all of Core Area F and one or more of the following courses : In house WIT Training Course, COMM 3351-

    Radio Program Production, COMM-3352 Fundamentals of Television Production, COMM-3353 Fundamentals of Film & Video Production, COMM 4421-

    Radio Practicum, COMM 4485 Sports Communication, and COMM-3354 Digital Social Media & Society. Student must have a 2.0 GPA.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Advance knowledge of Adobe Premier and / or other editing software

    Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

    Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

    Position Status Temporary - Part-Time Position Notes

    Special Assignment positions may include students that work outside a department’s normal operating hours, require extensive training, responsible for the safety and care of other students and / or deemed a one-time project.

    A department must obtain prior approval from Student Employment to have a position classified as a Special Assignment.

    Required Qualifications

    Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled for six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade-

    point average unless otherwise noted / indicated by the hiring department.
