Academic Multiple Sclerosis / GeneralNeurologist
The Department of Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) is recruiting an Academic General Neurologist with an interest in Neuroinflammatory disorders to participate in an active academic teaching practice in neurology, combining multiple inpatient, outpatient and consultation services with teaching residents and students.
This position includes a faculty appointment at University of Massachusetts Medical School and membership in both the Neurotherapeutics Institute at UMMS and the medical staff at the UMass Memorial Medical Center, a large, integrated health system (UMMHC).
UMMS and UMMHC combine top-flight clinical care with world-class research. UMMS has numerous world-class research programs including flagship programs in RNA biology, gene expression control and gene therapy as well as a translational program supported by a Clinical Translational Science Award (CTSA).
Inflammatory disorders are an area of special institutional commitment at UMass. The Neurology Department is committed to integrating the outstanding academic and clinical programs through multiple activities.
The system has an active neuroICU, a busy stroke service, a new simulation center, and an outstanding Office of Faculty Affairs offering opportunities for faculty development and promotion.
Centrally located Worcester is just miles from Boston, Providence, and Cape Cod with a short ride to the scenic Berkshire and Wachusett Mountains.
