Group / Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.

The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services.

  • Our comprehensive services include : proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24 / 7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems;
  • and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

    Responsibilities

GSS has two businesses. The service business and the Pro systems business. The service business has three segments. NPI segment (latest division tools in development), Volume segment (division products ramping in high volumes) and the Mature segment (all phase 7 products no longer manufactured by the divisions).

The mature segment consists of service business from the KLA phase 7 tools in the customer install base. The Pro systems group refurbishes, certifies and relaunches phase 7 systems.

The Pro Systems group also develops enhancements for phase 7 products. The responsibility for the marketing for services, systems and enhancements for phase 7 products belongs to the Mature Marketing team.

The Mature marketing team reports into the GSS Vice President of Marketing.

The mature market segment is a high potential growth segment due to growth in legacy design rule semiconductor chip manufacturing driven by the 5 mega trends (5G, Automotive, IOT, AI, etc).

This has resulted in elevated levels of bookings and shipments of refurbished systems and enhancements in recent years. The GSS mature service segment had previously been declining year over year and is now positioned well for potential growth.

The GSS Mature Marketing team is looking to fill the role of Product Marketing Manager (PMM) for BBP (Broad-band Plasma) products.

Mature BBP products include 28XX, 23XX and 213X. The scope of this role is to fulfill the dual function of both Marketing Manager and Program Manager for the BBP mature market.

This dual role makes the role is somewhat unique and hence has some unique requirements.

The primary function of the BBP PMM will be to maximize the BBP service growth for the mature segment. The BBP PMM will do that by differentiating GSS service products from that of the competition.

To create differentiation, the PMM will prioritize how resources in GSS are invested for BBP market to maximize the BBP service revenue growth.

To do this the PMM will be responsible for the following job duties :

Develop the business plan for the GSS service business for BBP products and set the growth targets for service revenue and KPI’s (service market share, service contract penetration and service margins).

The business plan will also include a forecast for BBP system shipments and enhancement product revenues.

Drive market validation strategies to determine what the mature BBP markets (and customers) need to improve the capabilities of the products (performance attributes, sensitivity / t’put / sw features) and what they need from their service products or service initiatives (product offerings, availability, technical requirements (matching, etc), cost per inspection targets, etc)

Develop product and service initiative roadmaps based on market validation and drive the cross-functional programs required to bring the products and initiatives to market.

This will require working cross-functionally with engineering, Apps, GOPS, PSO, Materials and to run weekly product growth team (PGT) meetings.

On the PGT meetings, the team will align on which programs to launch (and why) leveraging existing KLA processes like the PLC, master schedule, MRR, SRR, etc to execute on the program.

As part of the PLC process the PMM will own both the overall program vision, scope, time-line, ROI, definition of success, risks as well as the marketing deliverables : Market validation, Competitive Intelligence, MRD for the products, definition of the TAM / SAM, forecast, pricing and ASPs, PS&A goals, margin goals, etc.

The PMM must manage program resources (people, plant, infrastructure, budgets, etc) in a way that maximizes the ROI to GSS but also balances other needs of the business, like customer satisfaction, cost of service reduction, quality, etc.
