The intensive care unit provides multidisciplinary critical care to a variety of neurological and neurosurgical diagnosis.

The intensive care unit has active shared governance, performance improvement and evidence based practice ensuring the nurse is successful while providing interdisciplinary neurological expertise and world class care to patients and their families.
Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care area. Assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).
Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
