Industrial Safety, Health and Environmental Manager

Staffmark is currently recruiting a Direct Hire for the position of Industrial Safety Health and Environmental Manager position working for an industry leader in the recycling of used tires in the Allen County Ohio area.

The Industrial Safety, Health and Environmental Manager will play an intricate part in the growth of this company. The Industrial Safety, Health and Environmental position compensation be based upon experience $40,000 this full time position also comes with a generous benefit package vacation, Holiday pay Health, prescription, 401K vested from day one.

Industrial Safety, Health and Environmental responsibilities :

  • The Safety, Health & Environmental Manager leads the on-going assessment, development, implementation, and sustainability of the site's Safety and Health systems;
  • Responsible for insuring site's Health & Safety system meets the objectives of corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    The Health & Safety Manager works in conjunction with the management team to sustain a safety culture emphasizing employee engagement built upon Operational Excellence.

    Manage health and safety activities through strong leadership, training, communication, and motivation

    Guide the development and implementation of industrial Health & Safety policies and programs.

    Coordinate and provide safety training for all employees in the areas of Safety, Fire Prevention, and Loss Control.

    Administer New Hire Orientation Safety Training.

    Investigate and maintain records for all work related injuries and / or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety counter-

    measures to continuously improve safety objectives.

    Oversee / Administer the Worker's Compensation Program and implement an effective plan for minimizing and reducing worker injuries and associated costs in relationship to measurable data.

    Insure legislative compliance with OSHA, ADA, Fire Codes, and serve as a liaison with area OSHA representatives.

    Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up.

    Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.

    Direct management team relating to H&S issues.

    Keep the HR Manager, Plant Manager and Director of EH&S up-to-date on matters relating to health and safety and related areas of human resources.

    Direct, promote and review programs relating to safety, quality and productivity and recommend changes where desirable.

    Performs workplace inspections and monitor compliance with all Health and Safety, ISO14001 and Corporate Health and Safety policies and procedures.

  • Requirements :

    Qualifications : *Minimum of three (3) years Industrial Health, Safety, and Environmental experience, preferably in a Manufacturing (Molding / Assembly / banbury) facility.

  • Demonstrated strength with analytical / problem solving, oral and written communication, and organizational skills. *Knowledge of ISO 14001, SDS and Environmental issues.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, access, & PowerPoint programs. *Must have valid driver's license Education : *Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a related field of study.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, Ergonomics, and risk assessment.
