The Donor Relations Assistant will play an integral role in the development of efforts assisting the Donor Relations Director by managing major donor caseloads, conducting research, preparing presentations to donors, analyzing and tracking Marketing Impact Charts, donor and director communication as well as general office procedures.
This is a regular full time position with a work week expectations of 40 hours a week.

Donor and prospect research
Compile, track and analyze data for each Donor Relations Director’s Marketing Impact Chart
Develop special donor marketing pieces
Create detailed donor files, coordinate and track donor interaction and response
Coordinate and continually update divisional donor database and other provided databases
Create written responses or replies. Respond to regularly occurring requests for information
Confirm and assist in scheduling appointments with donors and prospects
Oversee all mailings, negotiate vendor costs and timelines
Maintain expense and travel reports for the Donor Relations Directors
Coordinate calendars, travel arrangements and itineraries
Organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls
Answers phones for Donor Relations Director when needed. Takes messages or fields / answers all routine and non-routine questions.
Communicate efficiently and effectively at a moment’s notice with Donor Relations Director when she / he is in the field (donor visits)

High School required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Ability to conduct research, and draft proposal letters to donors.
Team player, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers for successful achievement of position and department goals.
Communications and management style that exhibits the principles and culture of the Army, as well as fosters team relationships and effectively communicates information.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and exceptional organizational abilities with fluency in managing multiple projects and competing priorities with professionalism and grace.
Drive to make a difference, goal-oriented with a proven ability to achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and savvy in the maintenance of current contact and activity tracking reports, with adherence to the Army’s database protocols.
Attention to detail and deadlines, as well as ability to set overall strategy. Ability to apply these skills to the donor centered initiatives of the Development Department.
High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Work with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.
Must pass required background checks.
