As the Senior Reliability Engineer reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will provide engineering support for the optimization and maintenance of mechanical systems at the San Diego Plant.
The responsibilities include mechanical safety and reliability, technical consultation, analytical engineering, planning, supervision, and support for stores, procurement, and troubleshooting.
You will work with a great deal of independence to meet objectives. The maintenance reliability engineer maintains and implements plans that result in upgrades to functionality and reliability of the plant'
s production systems while assuring that installations comply with regulations, good engineering practice, and long-range plans.
You will :
Manage the condition monitoring programs including vibration Analysis and Tribology programs
Develop strategies aimed at improving equipment availability and reducing life-cycle cost
Develop detailed Preventative and Predictive Maintenance procedures
Manage the Mechanics’ and Instrument Technicians’ training program
Implement and support the environmental, health, and safety management system.
Trouble shoot equipment, monitor performance and recommend repairs and upgrades to improve availability
Monitor the work performance of multi-craft maintenance crews for quality and productivity and will coordinate with contractors and equipment vendors for repairs and replacement
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required :
Over 5 years of experience with at least 3 years of Maintenance Reliability experience including Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Mean Time between Failures.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Familiarity with standard operating and maintenance practices for piping systems, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, pump fans, separators and other process installations
Demonstrated project management ability
Strong and effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Preferred Qualifications and Other Skills :
Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
