A postdoctoral position for candidates interested in raredisease research and gene therapy is available in the laboratory of Dr.
Yulia Grishchukat the Center for Human Genetic Research, Massachusetts General Hospital / HarvardMedical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
The laboratory focuses on the neurobiologyand therapy development for the lysosomal storage disorder mucolipidosis typeVI.
Our current efforts are focused on developing AAV-based gene therapy fortreatment of mucolipidosis type IV and pre-clinical testing of this approach inthe mouse model.
We are looking for highly motivated recent PhD graduates witha background in neuroscience / gene therapy and previous experience with mousemodels of CNS diseases and primary cultures.
Candidate should be capable towork independently, but also have strong communication skills and provenability to work well in a collaborative environment.
Candidate should also demonstrate goodorganizational skills and be able to meet deadlines in time.
Candidatewill be directly involved in designing and conducting experiments, dataanalysis and preparation of publications.
Other responsibilities includepresenting data at the meetings, mouse colony management and supervisingstudents. He / she will work with under-graduate students, post-docs,technicians, and collaborators within the Harvard community and outside.
Together with conducting a primary research project, a supportive role in othercollaborative projects in the lab is strongly anticipated.
Candidates must have a PhD in neuroscience, molecularbiology, pharmacology or related areas. The initial contract is forone year, and continuation of the position is dependent on performance.
The laboratory is located on the main MGH campus in downtownBoston, MA. The research environment at MGH is extensive and collaborative.
