The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, or junior for a summer internship in the Bank's Research Department, with majors in Economics, History, or Urban Studies.
The intern will assist the research team with the following projects :
Create a database of county-level vehicle registration stretching back to the early 20th century.
The initial task will involve researching and requesting historical sources of vehicle data (typically from state regulators).
Next, material will be digitized and scanned to create text-based data files.
Finally, the data will be cleaned and combined into a final dataset.
Required skills :
Excellent communications skills
Manage written communications well
Take on initiative
Excellent organization skills
Excellent attention to detail
Proficient with Windows programs
Experience with OCR scanning and database creation, a plus
Sitting at a computer for long periods of time.
Applicants must also be able to provide work authorization to prove their eligibility to work in the United States.
