Essential Functions (Job Duties) Responsible for everyday operation of a microscopy core facility.
Assist in cross training for proficiency in flow cytometry.
Provide daily maintenance and operation of multiple fluorescent and confocal microscopes, as well as image analysis of data derived from the core.
Responsible for the training of users, troubleshooting research design and equipment issues, and providing excellent customer service to the core clients.
Unique Duties Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, biochemistry, or related science.
Experience in microscopy, specifically, fluorescence microscopy, is required.
Experience in flow cytometry. immunoflourescent procedures, and a working knowledge of cell biology will be given special consideration.
Knowledge of cell culture applications, image analysis (Volocity, Image J, Fiji and Huygens software) the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), and server maintenance.
Must be proficient in both PC and Apple computing platforms and be able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications Testing Requirements Not Applicable Test Scheduling Working Conditions The position requires a 9 am ?
