We are actively seeking qualified Med Tech / Shift Supervisors to join our Memory Care team. The Med Tech / Shift Supervisor in Memory Care is responsible for managing the medication administration program in accordance with state regulations.
They direct Resident Assistants (RAs) and help coordinate services to residents under the direction of the Resident Care Director.
The Med Tech / Shift Supervisor in Memory Care should develop positive relationships with employees, families, and residents on behalf of the Community and HHHunt, and must be pleasant, patient, and compassionate for others.
Must 21 years of age and show a genuine concern for and strong interest in working with seniors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Personal Care, Nursing, and Service Responsibilities
Observe, document, and report to RCD any changes in residents’ conditions
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, positioning, transfer, mobility and incontinence care
Prepare residents for meals, snacks, and activities
Assist residents in dining area including plating and serving meals, feeding and clearing tables
Perform and document medical treatments and / or procedures according to state regulations and HHHunt policies and procedures
Assure the shift duties list is completed and properly documented
Respond to resident emergency call system promptly
Assist RCD in planning and implementing programs for residents
Assist and orient residents at time of admission
Support activities that enhance residents’ independence and self-esteem and support retention of mental and physical abilities
Document and review medication administration
Refer to residents’ charts and administer medications according to physician’s orders
Ensure that medications are being administered at appropriate times
Order residents’ medications in a timely manner
Transcribe and carry out physician’s orders adhering to policies and procedures
Communicate with physicians and other medical professionals regarding residents’ medications, treatments, and / or therapies
Assist coworkers with other duties as needed
Assist with answering telephones in accordance with HHHunt procedures
Other responsibilities may include light housekeeping (e.g. dust, mop), laundry (e.g. wash / dry clothes), and maintenance (e.g. plunge toilets)
Develop positive relationships with employees, families, and residents on behalf of the Community and HHHunt
Perform other related duties as assigned by his / her supervisor
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
Awareness of exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, etc
Ability to exercise confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
Understanding of the social, psychological, and recreational needs of Alzheimer’s and memory impaired residents
Well groomed and ability to follow dress requirements
Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude at all times
Genuine concern for and strong interest in working with seniors
Pleasant, friendly, and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service
Ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities when necessary
High school diploma, or equivalent required
Some college and / or LPN license is preferred
Must be at least 21 years old, unless prior approval from Regional Director
Prior management experience in a similar work environment preferred
CNA Certification preferred (may be required in some states)
Must have and maintain CPR, First Aid, and State-specific Med Tech certifications, and State Board of Nursing licensure if applicable
Familiarity with symptoms and behaviors of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
Ability to work well with others and promote a team-oriented environment
