As a software engineer you will have the opportunity to work on multiple areas, with partners both in Office and across Microsoft.
Your primary responsibility will be to optimize the client-service interactions, and enhance the existing services to be more scalable and performant.
You will be writing C# and cross platform C++ code and tests, in addition to integrating modern programming frameworks, to deliver performance improvements across multiple client and server applications.
You will monitor your work via telemetry as it gets deployed across mobile, desktop, and web endpoints.
You will use modern data analysis and machine learning techniques to analyze your work with a particular focus on performance, scale and quality.
An essential part of the job will be to monitor production data to ensure that service SLAs are met, customer facing scenarios do not degrade, and that the overall system is working more efficiently at scale.
