Job Summary :

CEVA Logistics is currently hiring an International Ocean Manager located in Toronto, ON . The Manager ensures operational efficiency, high productivity and customer satisfaction in the International Import / Export department for Ocean.

In this role, the International Ocean Manager will :

  • Manage and oversee Ocean export / import clearance activities in a station or warehouse facility including negotiating pricing with lines and carriers, arranging shipments, and processing documentation in accordance with international laws / regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of exported / imported products, and in keeping with client requirements
  • Organize the structure to ensure excellent customer service and profitability and provide pro-active customer service for all clients handled by department
  • Manage ongoing operational support and liaison with Sales on market conditions and new industry information
  • Summary of Key Accountabilities :

  • Key problem solver with customer by building and maintaining positive relationships with the customer and carriers.
  • Manage periodic process / service reviews with customers
  • Oversee the routing and processing of all export / import shipments and ensuring that customer service requirements are being met in a cost efficient manner.
  • Establish rates / services with international carriers for the movement of the ocean freight. Maintain performance metrics for carriers
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, expenses and forecasts for department
  • Manage profitability and growth
  • Effectively communicate work task Standard Operating Procedures , conveys key information to team
  • Manage and drive performance of a team of ocean specialists (23 team members), implementing onboarding, providing regular feedback and reviews.
  • Encourages and rewards performance

  • Ongoing operational support and liaison with sales on market conditions and new industry information
  • Through strong leadership and guidance ensures company policies' are followed and the site develops a safe and positive work culture
  • Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma and / or greater
  • 5 - 7 years of job related or industry work experience
  • 5+ years of related supervisory / management experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing ocean freight import / export and related job functions

  • PC literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
