K&M Systems, Inc. is currently looking for an experienced Telecommunication Tower Technician / Boom Lift Operator who will be assisting with and conducting PIM testing in the Las Vegas, NV area.
This is a contract position.
Job Description :
Candidate will assist with and take PIM Measurement and improve cell site performance replacing old hardware on poles, and telephone poles.
Job Requirements :
Minimum 1 year experience in the telecommunication industry
Computer skills with Microsoft Office
Willing to work in the field in ALL types of weather (extremely hot, cold, rain, etc.)
Own basic hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, etc..) and are comfortable with using them
Knowledge of the hazards associated with towers, boom lift operations, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment
The ability and comfortable going up to elevated structures (60- 120 feet or more) with 40 lb. load
Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action
Follow instructions accurately and complete assigned duties
Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner
Experienced with operating 60' - 120' Boom Lifts
Familiar or Experience with PIM / Sweep tests and gears / procedures
Strong attention to safety and security
Strong constant communication
Available 40+ hours per week
Possess a valid driver license and be able to pass the Motor Vehicle Records check
Must be able to pass background check
Must be able to pass a drug test
Must be willing to learn
Must have a great attitude
Must be Reliable and Dependable
Must get along with others and collaborate and work as a team
Current Safety Certifications (OSHA, Boom, Aerial Lift, etc.)
Job Responsibilities :
Reports directly to the Supervisor / Foreman
May at times Supervise and coordinate the work of the crew
Operate PIM test equipment and troubleshoot, download, and label test results
Coordinate with Sub-Contractors
Work safely and professionally at all times
Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
Has knowledge of tower elements as related to the project(s).
Responsible for Company assets such as tools, machinery, computers, phones, etc.
Assist in scheduling and managing rental equipment to include calling off equipment.
Ability to deal with problems that arise with crew and project.
Takes instruction from Supervisor / Foreman and implements directions as needed.
Will be trained on if needed :
Comfortable learning and using RF testing equipment for PIM troubleshooting
Measuring & Troubleshooting PIM (Passive Inter Modulation)
Work with Senior RF engineer to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, and deliverable
Pay & Benefits :
$22.00 - $28.00 (DOE)
