PRIMARY DUTY : Northwest Missouri State University Dual Credit is seeking candidates to create a pool of applicants that can serve as an online adjunct.

Courses are taught in the fall, spring, and year-long in the online format. Adjuncts will be responsible for teaching the course curriculum developed and managed by the campus faculty to Missouri high school students.

Online courses are offered using Northwest Online (Canvas).

Northwest-Kansas City is seeking applicants that can serve as adjuncts in Biology, Oral Communication, and Chemistry.

Essential Functions : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Teach online courses within specific discipline for Online Dual Credit
  • Collaborate with campus faculty to deliver quality / rigorous courses
  • Participate in highly collaborative, professional development activities with Northwest colleagues
  • Support University initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them monitor their progress and support learning
  • Utilize Northwest Online learning management system to integrate appropriate technologies into the course to aid in student success
  • Hold 5 office hours per week with students outside of class time for additional instruction as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications : MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education : Earned Master's degree in specific discipline listed above or a Master's degree with graduate hours in specific discipline listed above and recognized industry credential, qualifications, and / or tested experiences in discipline

    Certification / License :

    Experience : Prior experience in post-secondary classroom instruction and / or work in discipline

  • Skills : Demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies to engage learners; instructional technology skills; interpersonal skills, including oral communication and collaboration;
  • committed to a focus on student success

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education : Earned Doctorate degree in specific discipline listed above

    Certification / License : Industry recognized credential

    Experience : Prior experience in secondary and post-secondary classroom instruction

    COMMUNITY : Northwest Missouri State University, the city of Gladstone and North Kansas City Schools launched their unique partnership to build the Northland Innovation Campus in 2014.

    The 90,000 square-foot research and education complex is designed to create synergies for K-12 programming while attracting business partners and students from the Kansas City metro and regional area.
