EquityEffect is a new platform within the Diligent ecosystem focused on the pre-IPO ecosystem. Equity management is a core focus of governance for pre-

IPO companies, and EquityEffect’s solutions make this easier for investors, law firms and private companies / startups. Our solution for investors is called EEInvest.

EEInvest provides Venture Capital and Private Equity investors with tools to make better investment decisions by helping them better understand fund and investment performance, track their portfolio, engage with their Limited Partners, and more.

We are looking for a talented Product Owner for EEInvest to join the exceptional team at EquityEffect and to help us continue growing and create awesome products for our customers.

The Product Owner will be responsible for clearly writing user stories and items in the Product Backlog, prioritizing the product backlog to best achieve overall goals, helping to optimize the value and sequencing of the work of an Agile development team, ensuring the Product Backlog is always visible, transparent, and clear and understandable at the right level of detail for the development team.

You will report to the Senior Product Manager of EquityEffect and work closely with the CTO and development team at EquityEffect.

Additionally, you will work with subject matter and functional experts at EquityEffect and on the broader Diligent team

Our ideal candidate is passionate about delivering cutting-edge products, has experience managing Product Backlogs, sprint planning and execution of Agile development teams, has great attention to detail, and has prior work experience or knowledge in the Venture Capital or Private Equity investment domain (the latter is not a must but a huge plus).

The Responsibilities :

  • Write product requirements for individual features and support a development team in implementation.
  • Support Agile practices with the team by maintaining a prioritized backlog of user stories with clearly written user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Fulfill the obligations of a Scrum Product Owner by attending required ceremonies and working with technical and UX leads on the team on iteration planning.

  • Work with Product Leaders to inform the product roadmap, prioritization of activities, and scoping out work with the delivery team
  • Provide input to the Senior Product Manager to help develop and continually evolve the overall EquityEffect integrated product roadmap
  • Demonstrate an understanding of product strategy and use this knowledge to define and prioritize requirements for a rapid product release schedule.
  • Understand functional capabilities and user scenarios for their product, components, and dependencies.
  • Collect customer inputs from existing channels and thinks of customers first when making product plans.
  • Support adjacent teams, e.g. Market, Content, etc. by reviewing content, clarifying release timelines, and other supporting activities
  • Develop expert knowledge in EquityEffect and Diligent’s suite of products.
  • Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Product Ownership or Product Management roles, developing web-based products and technologies
  • Strong analytical skills, technical abilities, written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and an ability to work independently with remote teams
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, preferably SCRUM, including software requirements management and process mapping
  • Expert Proficiency in Jira, Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Visio / Lucid Chart
  • Understanding of UX considerations
  • Ability to build relationships and work well across functions
  • Ability to present to key stakeholders and C-level execs
  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with shifting priorities, deadlines and focus and have strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, creative and able to deliver innovative solutions
  • Desired skills

  • Domain knowledge or experience building product for the Investment world is a huge plus
  • Experience building a product or business from scratch
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to type and / or manage laptop or personal computer keyboard for the purpose of internal and external electronic communication.
  • Ability to see and hear and communicate verbally
  • Mental Requirements

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and / or written instructions or other information
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions
  • Ability to make decisions which have moderate to significant impact on the immediate team and division and stakeholders / colleagues and be able to monitor that impact
